Rooted in Love
Love God. Love Others. Let Your Love Show!
“…being rooted and grounded in love.”
Ephesians 3:17 KJVWhat Does It Mean to Be Rooted in Love?
Just like a tree needs strong roots to grow tall and strong, we need strong roots too. Our roots grow deeper when we learn about God, spend time with Him, and understand how much He loves us.
When we are rooted in God’s love, His love begins to show in the way we treat other people.
We can show God’s love when we:
- are kind
- forgive others
- choose our words carefully
- love and respect our parents and caregivers
- love our brothers and sisters
- help and care for others
We don’t only talk about God’s love—we can show it by the way we live.
“God is love.”
1 John 4:8 KJVGod loves you, and you can share His love with others!
🌳 Now It’s Your Turn!
How can you show God’s love?
Use the Rooted in Love activity to write or draw one way you can show love in each area of the tree. Then choose one thing you can put into action today.
Younger children may draw their answers, and older children may write them.
Prints as one 8.5 × 11 page. Download gives you a ready-to-print PDF.
Make It a Family Conversation
As your child completes the activity, talk about each part of the tree together. Ask them for examples of what kindness, forgiveness and love might look like at home, at school or with friends.
Afterward, let your child choose one action they want to practice. Encourage them when you see them putting God’s love into action.
Grow in Faith. Shine in His Love.
I am rooted in God’s love. I will show God’s love to others.
